I am still working with this photo - as you can see it has a number of stains on it and some scratches - but this will come out nice in the end. The photo was supposed to have been taken before the game but everyone arrived late so they took the photo after the game when (a) most had then gone home and (b) it was getting dark. The original photo shoot should have happenned at the Old Salisbury Hotel, but this picture looks like it was taken in the garden of the Black Horse PH. W.H.Janes was at the centre of the expenses enquiry in 1899 but had then been transferred to the Thames Ironworks (West Ham). He didnt escape the London Football Association sanctions though as he still got suspended! |
